No beef will be served in any restaurant or hotel in Assam. Assam government has banned beef in the state. 

The decision was taken by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma. Serving beef in hotels and restaurants has been banned in Assam. "In Assam, we have decided that beef will not be served in any restaurant or hotel and at the same time it will not be served in any public function or public place, so from today we have decided to completely stop the consumption of beef in hotels, restaurants and public places," Sarma said. Earlier our decision was to ban eating beef near temples but now we have extended it to the entire state that you will not be able to eat it in any community place, public place, hotel or restaurant.He said that it has been 3 years since we brought a law to ban cow slaughter in Assam. Through this law, we have got a lot of success in cow slaughter. Now we have decided that beef will not be served in any hotel or restaurant and there will be no ban on its inclusion in any public function. We had earlier decided that there will be a ban on eating or selling beef within 5 km radius of the temple. However, it has now been implemented across the state. Beef will not be cooked or eaten in hotels, restaurants and public functions across the state. It is completely banned.
